George R.R. Martin was all praises for Maisie Williams, the English actress who plays Arya Stark in HBO series "Game of Thrones," on Monday, January 20 at the Jean Cocteau Cinema.

In his live journal "Not a Blog," the "Winds of Winter" author wrote that the "Game of Thrones" extravaganza was a huge hit with people "started lining up as the sun was coming up, and the queue grew longer all day."

Maisie Williams showed up around 5 p.m. to meet the fans even if the doors to the theatre officially opened at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m.

"Maisie is amazing... not only a talented young actress, but a delight in person. I think she spoke to everyone in line, signed their books and Funko Pop dolls, posed for pictures. Not everyone got into the theatre, alas, but everyone in line got to meet Maisie..." George R. R. Martin said.

He also cited the role of the wolf ambassadors from Wild Spirit, Flurry and Zorro, which "were great hits as well."

Meanwhile, season 4 of the "Game of Thrones" will debut on Sunday, April 6 on HBO at 9 p.m. Eastern. Although the award-winning author acknowledged that the show is putting additional pressure on him to fast-track the book, does the show have any bearing on the "Winds of Winter?"

The comments section in the blog post also had an interesting conversation between fan, Rafael Wambier Dos Santos, who asked George R. R. Martin if watching the show made him change something on the upcoming books such as "Winds of Winter."

"I mean, when you write you write for the books only or do you take into consideration "well, that is too big or might not work on the HBO show?"

To which the author replied: "No, the show has had no influence on the books."

"Winds of Winter," according to George R.R. Martin, is scheduled to release late 2014 and so far there's no indication that the timeline will be pushed back.
