A source told OK! magazine that Jennifer Lawrence and her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult spent Christmas at her family home in Kentucky.

The insider explained: "Jennifer is extremely close to her family, When she isn't filming or promoting her movies, she spends a lot of time at her parents' house.

"All the family had gathered in the living room, enjoying the night before Christmas when Nick asked for everyone's attention and began giving a speech to Jennifer.

"He stood up and took her hand, helping her to stand up as well. When she was on her feet, he knelt down and pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked her to marry him," the source added.

"She knows news of the engagement will make [her private life] harder if not impossible. And she is obsessed with her privacy."

The problem with this report? Jen and Nick didn't spend Christmas in Kentucky!

As we previously reported, on Dec. 22, Jennifer flew to Hampshire, England to spend the holidays with boyfriend Nicholas in his hometown, Celebuzz reports

According to Perez Hilton, the happy couple took a photo with a few fans at a family-owned pub in the UK on Sunday, Dec. 28, which was later circulating around Twitter. The "X-Men" co-stars were also spotted frolicking in Notting Hill, boarding a train at Paddington Station, and sightseeing in Oxford.

Meanwhile, Jen didn't flash any kind of engagement ring at the Golden Globe Awards 2014, when her film "American Hustle" took home the Best Picture in a Musical/Comedy award - but she did give her boyfriend a big kiss to celebrate!

While the couple are definitely growing closer than ever, getting engaged doesn't seem in the cards just yet for the private couple!

Jennifer, 23, and Nicholas, 24, met on the set of "X-Men: First Class" in 2011. They split in January, 2013 after dating for two years, due to their busy schedules. But the two stars bonded again in June while filming "X-Men: Days of Future Past" in Montreal, Hollywood Life reports. They have been dating again since this summer.
