‘Under The Dome’ Season 2 Spoilers, Air Date: Two Major Deaths Coming In Premiere, Written By Stephen King

"Under the Dome" season 2 will premiere with a bang - according to new spoilers, two major deaths are coming when "Under the Dome" season 2 airs this summer.

"Under the Dome" season 2 returns to CBS on Monday, June 30.

According to E! News, "two major deaths" will occur in the premiere, which will be written by Stephen King himself.

"We're excited to tell more stories about the mystery of the dome and the secrets in Chester's Mill, and are thrilled to have the master storyteller himself, Stephen King, tell the first one of next season," Nina Tassler, CBS Entertainment President, said in a statement.

And what about the major deaths?

"No one is safe in this town," executive producer Brian K. Vaughan teased in a spoiler video.

The website reports that the new season of "Under the Dome" will "dive into the mystery of what the dome is trying to protect the town from."

New characters will also be introduced after the air date, including Junior's uncle, "who's been hiding out for reasons we find out," and a new teacher who will teach the drama's kids "how to arm and keep Chester's Mill running." The teacher will most likely be a rival for Dean Norris' character, Big Jim.

Also, "Under the Dome" season 2 will move beyond the events in King's novel, Entertainment Weekly reports.

"This is the way television should be ... ['Under the Dome' has] been a great new model," CBS Corp CEO Leslie Moonves said of the show and its success, Deadline reports.

TVGuide.com describes the new CBS show: "A small New England town is sealed off from the world by an enormous transparent dome that inexplicably appears and forces the area's inhabitants to deal with the post-apocalyptic situation."

"Under the Dome" stars Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris and Britt Robertson.
