British Muslim Politician Receives Death Threat For Posting Cartoon Pic Of Jesus And Mohammed On Twitter; Insists God Himself Won’t Feel Threatened By It

Think before you click - this is one of the basic advices that Twitter users often forget.  In United Kingdom, a politician seems to have forgotten everything about this line and the result, his career and life is under threat.

British  Muslim Maajid Nawaz, who runs for a Liberal Democrat parliamentary in the United Kingdom, is under fire for posting a photo of a t-shirt with cartoon images of Jesus Christ and Mohammed. The picture has the caption: "This is not offensive and I'm sure God is greater than to feel threatened by it."

Shortly after he made the post, the public immediately expressed their anger saying Nawaz's actions were offensive and uncharacteristic for someone who is running for a public post. There are some who even threatened the life of the aspiring politician.

"No Muslim will ever vote for the Liberal Democrats anywhere ever unless they ditch the provocateur Majid Nawaz, cuckold of the EDL," said MP George Galloway who he himself also got into similar trouble for uttering anti-Israel beliefs.

"Have spoken to someone in Pakistan. They will have a surprise for him on his next visit. He is used to surprises in Pak," said a Twitter user.

Another user added: "I would be glad to cut your neck off, so your kufr [unbeliever] friends won't be amused by your humour. In sha Allah [if Allah is willing] may my dua [act of worship] get accepted."

Despite the uproar, Nawaz remain firm with what the things he said and asked the people to calm down.

"Some are angry that I didn't find an innocuous cartoon on the BBC as offensive and repeated my view that - as a Muslim - it wasn't offensive to me on here," he said in another Twitter post.

"Others are angry that I am being censored and silenced. Please let's all calm down."
