G-Dragon To Spend Spring Writing The Upcoming Big Bang Album: New Release Slated For This Summer

At a Big Bang concert in Seoul on Sunday, the group's frontman, G-Dragon, told the crowd of 36,000 fans that they could expect a new album as early as this summer.

"The only way to give back to your love is to release an album," G-Dragon said.

"It will be this summer. We have released only a few regular albums under the name of Big Bang, so it is time to release one more, isn't it?"

Big Bang hasn't released a full-length album in Korea release since 2008's "Remember."

Later that day, at a press conference held in a restaurant in Seoul, Yang Hyun Suk, co-founder and CEO of the group's record label, YG Entertainment, confirmed that G-Dragon would spend the spring working on the new Big Bang album.

"We have no schedule for G-Dragon from this March on," Yang said, according to a press release from the label on Tuesday.

"We will make him concentrate only on the songs for Big Bang's new album. He writes good songs so fast, so I think there will be no problem with Big Bang's comeback in this summer."

A comeback that the K-pop record mogul said he believes "will be in July or August."

Earlier that day, G-Dragon reflected onstage about what the process of composing the group's next album means to him and his four bandmates.

"Summer is not that far. We will do our best making this new album and while standing on the stage as solo artists, too," he said.

"We will come back with a new album made by the complete team of Big Bang, which we promise you will like. We will come back as singers who you can take pride in. Please wait for us just a little longer."

All five members of Big Bang released singles as solo artists in 2013.
