Carmelo Anthony Trade Rumors NOT True Says Wife Lala Vasquez; Insists She Doesn't Influence Melo's Plans

"I definitely think he will stay," Lala Vasquez said when asked about the plans of his husband Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks. In an interview with Bravo TV's "Watch What Happens Live, she said that she "know that he wants to stay, and I support him wherever he wants to go."

Rumors mills have it that Melo, who will become a free agent this summer, will leave the Madison Square Garden for the Chicago Bulls, the Los Angeles Lakers, or several other teams.

"Listen, I used to live in Denver with him. If I can live in Denver, I can live anywhere. I just want him to be happy."

The American actress, disc jockey and TV personality, also insisted that she doesn't have a heavy influence on the 7-time All-Star's decision making.

"I get blamed for everything. No matter what happens, it's my fault," she said. "[There are] all these talks if he's staying in New York or not, [and] I'm somehow the mastermind behind if he stays or not."

Well, one of the things that will make Melo happy is a championship and it seems that he won't get it in the Big Apple.

"(Winning a championship is) the only thing I care about. Anything else is irrelevant to me as far as when it comes to basketball," Anthony said after practice in Greenburgh. "A championship is the only thing that's on my mind, is the only thing I want to accomplish, I want to achieve and I'm going to do what I got to do to get that."

Unless New York Knicks get new marquee players, or a new more competent coach, Melo's stay at New York is threatened. No one can assure Knicks fans that he'll stay with the team until he signed a new contract with them.
