Nokia Normandy Specs, Release Date: Upcoming Android Handset May Be Unveiled on February 24th At Mobile World Congress, Feat. Incl. 4-inch Touchscreen, Dual-Core Processor

Nokia Normandy specs, release date: The upcoming Android handset of the Microsoft-owned company is expected to be unveiled on February 24, a few days before the official start of the Mobile World Congress. Specs of Nokia’s first Android unit is speculated to include a 4-inch touchscreen with 480 x 800 resolution and a 1GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor.

Nokia is scheduled to hold a press conference on February 24 at 8:30-9:30 AM, Barcelona time, where the event will be held. The website noted that nothing is given away as to what will be announced or discussed, but many are expecting the Nokia Normandy and Nokia Lumia 1820 to be launched amongst other devices.

In an earlier report by Pocket Lint, it noted that the Nokia Normandy will have an Android 4.4.1 KitKat, a 5-megapixel camera and a 854 x 540 resolution display. The Nokia Normandy is speculated to be a budget-friendly phone like the Nokia Asha.

According to Tech Radar, if Microsoft doesn’t squash plans for the Nokia Normandy, then its release this coming February will almost be definite. Nokia will soon be under full management by the Redmond tech giant, in accordance with agreements when Microsoft purchase the mobile division of the Finnish conglomerate.

Tech Radar notes that if Nokia doesn’t get the chance to show off Normandy, it may still have another hardware trick to perform. This would be the Nokia Lumia 929, also dubbed as the Nokia Lumia Icon. The tech focused site suggests though that it would be strange to launch a device destined for the U.S. on a huge European tech event.

Microsoft is not expected to have a big presence at the MWC 2014. In a report by The Verge, it notes that April’s Build Conference by the company will have a dedicated chunk of the spotlight on Windows Phone 8.1.
