The retrial of Amanda Knox ended in her 28-year conviction but vows to fight it "until the very end" as her former boyfriend and co-defendant Raffaele Sollecito was stopped in Udine, near the border of Slovenia and Austria.

Amanda Knox was found guilty during retrial by a panel of jurors and judges and was sentenced to 28 years and six months in jail, while her former boyfriend, Raffaelle Sollecito, was also sentenced to 25 years in prison. But Amanda Knox vowed that she will fight the retrial's conviction "until the very end."

In an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America," Amanda Knox said she didn't expect the new conviction to happen.

Amanda Knox earlier said that she has no intention of going back to Italy if both she and Rafaelle Sollecito are found guilty in the murder of Meredith Kercher in 2007. The victim's body was found in their apartment with 40 stab wounds.

In a statement sent from her home in Seattle, Amanda Knox said that while she "respect and support" whatever legal moves that the Kercher family to get justice for Meredith Kercher, her prison term is not the answer.

"This has gotten out of hand," the statement read. "Clearly a wrongful conviction is horrific for the wrongfully accused, but it is also terribly bad for the victim, their surviving family, and society."

Meanwhile, Rafaelle Sollecito was arrested near the border of Austria and Slovenia on Friday.

Rafaelle Sollecito is not allowed to leave Italy while the trial continues. Udine town is only less than 20 miles away from Slovenia and 55 miles south of Austria, said CNN.
