Bates Motel Season 2 Spoilers: Will Norman Bates and His Mother Norma Commit Incest? Creator Says Humor Distinguishes Series From Other Serial Killer Shows

Bates Motel Season 2 is coming on A&E on March 3 and fans are eager to know whether incest is an overriding factor that shaped Norman Bates' character in "Psycho."

So does Norman Bates and his mother, Norma Bates, have an incestuous relationship?

Creator Carlton Cuse told InsideTV that they are too careful about finally consummating what the show has been suggesting, that the relationship between mother and son are not entirely platonic.

He said that the odds of incest "are straight-up not high" in "Bates Motel."

"There's creepy and then there's too creepy. While they have a close relationship that complicates everything, I think actually having them consummate the relationship will have them fall into category of too creepy - at least at this point," Carlton Cuse said.

What viewers will see, however, is the love story of Norman Bates and a separate love story of Norma Bates.

He also said that the show is not too focused on upping the ante when it comes to body count, compared to season 1 of the "Bates Motel," although he did provide a teaser that there's going to be "some mayhem that goes on in the town of White Pine Bay."

More than the body count and mayhem, however, he said humor is what sets "Bates Motel" apart from the rest.

"I think one of the things that really distinguishes our show there's a lot of humor which is not true of a lot of shows that deal with serial killers. It's more of a family thriller than a horror show," he told InsideTV.

Meanwhile, A&E launched a new website (https://www.batesmotel.com) where users can have a virtual tour of the famous "Bates Motel." Viewers can also go inside the family house so they can find clues for themselves and try to solve the mysteries surrounding the motel, Huffingtonpost.com reported.
