Michael Dunn Trial Update; Suspect’s Letters From Jail With Racist Remarks Published By The Court; Jordan Davis Shooter Thinks His Prison Mates Make Him More Racist

In December 2012, Michael Dunn was accused of shooting and killing 17-year old African America Jordan Davis, a case that is similar to the infamous George Zimmerman-Treyvor Martin case that occurred eight months before. Incidentally, both cases took place in Florida. Dunn has been tagged as a bigot and racist, the kind of problem that the whole world has been trying to eradicate for a really long time.

As compared to Zimmerman, Dunn, who is now facing lifetime in prison and charge with first degree-murder, doesn't have a dark past. However, that perception totally changed after reports showed his letters he made to his grandmother, girlfriend, and daughter.

On Monday, the State Attorney's Office of Jacksonville, Florida released over 150 pages of evidence that includes mails he have written to his family members, friends, and others since he's locked up in prison in 2012. Those letters contain words and remarks that surely won't help him his situation.

Here's an excerpt of the letter he sent to his grandmother:

"I'm not really prejudiced against race, but I have no use for certain cultures. This gangster-rap, ghetto talking thug 'culture' that certain segments of society flock to is intolerable."

In another letter to an unknown recipient, he writes,

"As you can imagine, I'm not getting much sympathy from the press. The're (sic) a bunch of liberal b*****s. North Florida is more like the Deep South. They seem to have a lot of racial guilt, or at least the prosecutor's office does."

From the letter to his girlfriend:

"I just got off the phone with you and we were talking about how racist the blacks are up here. The more time I am exposed to these people, the more prejudiced against them I become."

To his daughter:

"This may sound a bit radical, but if more people would arm themselves and kill these (expletive) idiots when they're threatening you, eventually they may take the hint and change their behavior."

In his defense, Dunn said that "he saw the barrel of a gun in the car Davis was in the day of the shooting. He also says his life was verbally threatened by the SUV's occupants that day," according to Action News Jax.

He claims that it was a self-defense matter, citing 'Stand Your Ground' law.
