South Korean actress, singer and former Wonder Girls member An Sohee has signed with the Korean entertainment company BH Entertainment.

In a heartfelt personal letter to fans posted Monday to the microblogging website Twitter, Sohee candidly discussed her career goals.

"I know that many of you have been curious about my future activities, and I thought it's only right for me to personally tell everyone, who has loved me for such a long time, about them," wrote the 21-year-old singer-turned-actress.

"For my acting career that I've shown bits and pieces of, I will be actively and diversely starting off with my new agency, BH Entertainment."

The singer also thanked her Wonder Girls bandmates and the employees of the group's record label JYP Entertainment.

"Thanks to my precious Wonder Girls members and my JYP family supporting my decision to follow my long-time dream of becoming an actress, I was able to gain confidence, and now I'm ready to take one step forward," Sohee wrote.

"I will never forget today, the starting point of my dream of becoming an actress, and I will greet you as actress An Sohee, who will work hard, always remembering the love and support that all the fans have given me despite lacking a lot."

Sohee left Wonder Girls in December.

BH Entertainment's client list includes much of South Korea's premiere acting talent, including Shim Eunkyung of the film "Miss Granny" and Ha Yeonsoo of the Mnet television drama "Monstar."

According to a spokesperson for the entertainment company, the BH Entertainment execs were not just intrigued by Sohee's name recognition, but her potential as well.

"We brought in An Sohee because we saw her as an actress with an infinite amount of potential, with her unique gaze and attractiveness, as well as her voice that has emotional appeal," the BH spokesperson told the publication Tenasia.

"She's already recognized by enough people as a singer but we plan to help her build on the basics and substance she has as a newcomer."
