Install Official Android 4.4 KitKat Update On Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4; Over-The-Air Rollout For L720VPUFNAE Firmware Begins Today

Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 users can now install the official Android 4.4 KitKat update.

According to a post on International Business Times, Samsung Galaxy S4 US carrier models is now receiving the official Android 4.4 KitKat update beginning with the Sprint variant of the smartphone. Reportedly, Sprint is frequently one of the first US carriers to rollout Android updates on its devices.  

As expected, the official Android 4.4 KitKat update with build number L720VPUFNAE for Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 arrived today, February 13. A post on Android Central yesterday, February 12, showed a photo of the internal document noting that the release date of the Android 4.4 KitKat update for Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 is set for today, February 13.

Users of Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 can install the official Android 4.4 KitKat update via over-the-air notification. Moreover, the KitKat update can be prompted manually by going to Settings > General > About Device > Software Update.

Moreover, the photo also shows the features and enhancements to find after updating to Android 4.4 KitKat firmware. Aside from the usual OS upgrade, those Sprint Galaxy S4 users who will install official Android 4.4 KitKat update on their smartphone will also experience the Zact Mobile Compatibility support.  

Furthermore, the Prevention Information alert is also enabled which means that "Customers should no longer receive "Prevention Information - An application has been forced to stop for an unauthorized attempt to access system in your device. It may be safe to delete an application obtained from an unauthorized route. Check now?" alert messages on the device," as posted on the support page of Sprint.com.

Some of the Android 4.4 KitKat features are the "immersive mode," updated dialer and caller ID, updated lock screen design, "always on" hands free navigation, complete emoji keyboards, updated NFC-powered features, TV and Bluetooth compatibility and a whole lot more.
