Girls' Generation Will Not Adopt The New "Sexy" Trend

With only one more week to go before Girls' Generation makes their comeback, they are declaring a brand new approach to music that is completely different from what they previously showed. One thing is also certain - they are not going with the new "sexy" concept.

An SM Entertainment representative revealed that they will release the new single on February 20th, adding that Girls' Generation will not participate in the "sexy" trend that has taken over the K-Pop scene. He added, "They will, however, go through a concept change as they always have in the past."

We only know a few things about Girls' Generation's comeback. Their single is called "Mr.Mr", an R&B dance song. It was produced by internationally acclaimed producers The Underdogs. Their choreography was handled by Janet Jackson's choreographer Jillian Meyers.

Our conversation with the SM Entertainment rep produced a few more interesting things about Girls' Generation's highly anticipated comeback.

First, "Mr.Mr" is not an R&B song in the strictest sense. It's a dance song with R&B singing, which will allow a much more rhythmical choreography.

Second, their choreography is the adoption of "formations". This is what Jillian Meyers focused most on as well. Their dance will change continually, and they will not be using any props.

Third, Girls' Generation will not be adopting the "sexy" concept. They will, of course, dodge all "Forbidden Under 19" concepts as well. Instead, each member will adopt a style that suits them.

Fourth, the overarching concept of the music video is "mystery girl". It's obvious, of course, by looking at the teaser photos of the music video. Are they in a hospital? An experimental lab? It will certainly be interesting to see how the music video unfolds.

Fifth, Girls' Generation will be releasing a mini-album, not just the single. The album will feature 4-5 songs and will cater to a few different genres.

Sixth, each Girls' Generation member had their input for this album. Style, performance, and even the song itself was produced with high levels of participation from each member.

I'll say it again - it's only a few days away. Girl's Generation is coming back!
