Guardians of the Galaxy trailer has been rumored to appear during the Super Bowl 2014 commercials, however this did not happen.

Rumor has it the Disney had tried to acquire the third spot to be included on the 2014 Super Bowl intended for the debut of "Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer.

Director James Gunn, himself has clarified the speculations, where he posted a statement on Twitter saying that there will be no Super Bowl trailer for the movie.

However, he did say that Marvel and Disney have something special prepared for the fans.

"For those of you asking about a #gotg Super Bowl spot, there will not be one but we will have something incredibly awesome for you soon."

This Tweet was soon followed up by a statement on Facebook:

"Although I announced it on Twitter, I'm still getting questions about it on FB, so I thought I'd share here as well - the news reports of there being a Guardians of the Galaxy Super Bowl spot are incorrect. So if you're a fan planning on sitting through hours of football only to get your #GotG fix - don't! I know many of you are dying for a glimpse into the universe we're creating - believe me, I hear you loud and clear hundreds of times a day, and I am dying even more to share it with you - IT'S KILLING ME THAT I CAN'T SHOW YOU A GLIMPSE - but Marvel and Disney have had a plan in place for a long time for the rollout of these characters in the biggest and best way possible, serving the widest audience as possible. Trust that they know what they're doing, as they've been through this a few times before. And please be patient. Your enthusiasm, as always, is more than appreciated."

Last Monday, Guardians of the Galaxy trailer has been classified with a PG rating and a two minute and thirty-two second running time.

 Yahoo Singapore announced via Twitter that the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer will premiere online on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. A very reliable information, thus Marvel Studios is known to release its movie trailers online via Yahoo Movies.
