Kpop Crossover: Nylon Pink, Los Angeles' "sexiest, glitziest" band, released a music video of their cover of the Anime music classic from Final Fantasy, "Real Emotion." Kiki Wongo shares vocals with Kaila Yu on the cover of Koda Kumi's hit seventh single.

Nylon Pink are well-known on the pages of Kpopstarz.com. Besides their original songs, Nylon Pink regularly show their love of all things Kpop by releasing cover after cover of their favorite Kpop songs. They've covered 2NE1's "Lonely" and "I Am The Best;" Girls Generation's "Run Devil Run;" Hyuna's "Ice Cream" and songs by Big Bang and others.

And not just Kpop, the self-proclaimed "only all-Asian American female band in the United States" have also dipped into anime music, which they put their own punk-pop signature sound on. Nylon Pink recently put out a hard rocking cover of Kpop star BoA's ballad "Every Heart," which closes every episode of the hit anime Inuyasha.

"Real Emotion" was the theme and ending credits song for Final Fantasy. It was released as a double A-side by Koda Kumi, with "1000 no Kotoba" on the flip, It was Koda Kumi's seventh single.

This is a slight departure for Nylon Pink because lead singer Kaila Yu is playing keyboards and sharing the lead vocal duties with Kiki Wongo. That doesn't stop Kiki from delivering a blistering guitar solo. A descending chord figuration that grumbles and growls beautifully. Katt Lee bass and Jamie Scoles' drums lock everything in place and beautifully make that middle eight transition a dream.

Nylon Pink had to play a show in Sacramento on Jan 4 without Kaila Yu, and Kiki Wongo took over lead vocals for the night. Kiki mesmerized the audience at the SacAnime Convention.

After the show she said "I'm not a singer, but we didn't want to disappoint our fans. Anime fans are the best!" 

Nylon Pink were nominated for "Pop Artist of the Year" at the LA Music Awards.
