The sexy war in the music world has come to a short lull.

Following Girl's Day's successful opening, Stellar occupied portal site search query top spots, and now, the exclusive hot issues of sexy girl groups has been put on hold.

Girls' Day and AOA had successful sexy comebacks, but one can't simply ignore the fatigue factor of 'sexy' in the music world. After all, isn't there a limit to how much 'sexy' can fill the K-Pop scene?

Other female singers that have impending comebacks are standing outside the sexy concepts. Sunmi, who has a quite sexy performance, has chosen to promote her comeback with a vampire concept. Girls' Generation also stated long ago that they won't be using the sexy concept. Ladies' Code has also foregone the sexy concept and instead put forth their best cards with their vocals.

Other girl groups who have upcoming comebacks are preparing other concepts as well. Even Stellar has introduced adult content to their concepts, but there's been talk that the shock factor in sexy concepts is useless now. Music reps have stated, "We're already seen the end of sexy concepts. What more can come of it?"

There are still other girl groups that are putting distance between themselves and the sexy competition. A rep for BESTie, who is currently preparing for their comeback, stated, "We're taken the position that we will be going our own way. We are separating ourselves from the current level of competition. Just as BESTie has grown step by step since its debut, we have determined to highlight the group's unique color and go our own way instead of joining the current competition."

What about girl groups that have already put themselves forth as sexy girl groups? Girls' Day and AOA have already used this strategy. For such groups that have already put forth sexy concepts, it's hard to pull out of the sexy mentality. Instead, they have to keep increasing their shock factor with each comeback. Will they be able to turn to the left or right and deviate from the sexy concept? It's been analyzed that their decision will have a big impact on the life of the group.

To be fair, Girl's Day still has not shown its full capabilities of different colors, at least vocal-wise. Even AOA, who started out as a band, has different avenues of transformation. As such, the group's future isn't too grim. Girl's Day's Minah stated, "I hope you don't think that we'll be coming back with another sexy concept. We'll do our best to show you the wide variety of our charms."

So what about boy groups then? It's hard to compete with the sexy concept girl groups, but they've gone with appealing to female fans' fantasies. BTS members emerged as rugged male students. Boys Republic is also preparing for their Fantasy Trilogy project.
