Pharrell Williams New Album To Feature Music’s Biggest Names Like JT, Alicia Keys, Miley, And More; Find Out The Story Behind The Album’s Title

Pharrell Williams will finally have his solo album after eight years, something that has taken over the 'Pharrell' topics on the web other than his one of a kind 'hat.' On March 3, the half of the Neptunes duo will release an album entitled 'G I R L,' and will feature the biggest names in the music's current generation.

Last night, the 40-year old American singer hosted a listening party for UK media and the press immediately gave hints on who listeners will hear from the album. According to Metro, G  I  R  L, which is a follow up of In My Mind (2006), will see the singer collaborating with Daft Punk, Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, JoJo and even Hans Zimmer, the Oscar-winning composer.

Music Times also reported that among all the songs in the album, Pharrell's personal favorite is Gust of Wind.

"He likes it so much that he plays it twice, excitedly jumping back to the start before the first play-through has even finished. He tells us that this one features 'the robots,' and that the punchy offbeat guitar comes from a young Canadian prodigy called Francesco Yates. It begins with zigzagging strings, and then that unmistakeable vocoder voice wraps itself around the climbing bassline and pumps mightily, nigh-on unintelligibly through the chorus," the website wrote.

In an earlier interview, the singer, producer, and enterpreneur  said that GIRL's main target audience are women, reason how it got its title.

"The music has had an incredible fanbase, or what some would call family, and support system which has been women," said the 40-year-old, who performed at Brit Music Awards.

"That's kind of the reason why my new album is called Girl."

"She didn't give anyone any warning. She tweeted something and then took over the world!" he told Metro.

"I can tell you is that me and all of the ladies that were all a part of the process and coming around to the studio listening to things, we all had a ball and we just want to share that with the rest of the world."
