Yuna Kim Sochi Scandal; Is The South Korean Figure Skater The Rightful Gold Medal Winner In Winter Olympics? Experts Think So

"The most important thing for me is to participate in the Olympic Winter Games. It's my last competition, and I'm a happy to be here." - these are the words from South Korean figure skater Yuna Kim after losing to Russia's Adelina Sotnikova for the gold medal. She even added that "personally, it is not my ambition to defend my goal."

While the 23-year old seems all right with her silver medal, some experts and fans doesn't sit well with it. They think that she was robbed off. Experts and fans alike conclude that the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics is rigged and the best example is the women's figure skating championship. Newspapers wrote that Adelina Sotnikova, 17, received help from the judges.

The Daily Beast wrote that "tricks are given Grade of Execution scores, ranging from -3 to +3 depending on how well the trick was performed. There were two judges-Abad-Santos lays down good evidence that they could be from Russia and the Ukraine-that flooded Sotnikova with +3s, even though she fell, and Kim with just +1s, even though she was flawless."

The International Business Times also have the same report.

French sports publication L'Equipe published a report that U.S. and Russian figure skating judges had conspired to help Russia win the gold in the Olympic team event at the expense of Canada by giving higher scores to a U.S. ice dancing pair. The article would receive a sharp rebuttal from the U.S. Skating Federation, but the seeds of skepticism were firmly planted.

People on the web also 'conspired' to unravel the truth about Yuna Kim Sochi Scandal. An organization have gathered more than 1.2 million signatures in Change.org, seeking to investigate Kim's 'shocking' silver medal finish. The petition, which was started by a user code named 'Justice Seeker,' is addressed to the International Skating Union headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is called "Open Investigation into Judging Decisions of Women's Figure Skating and Demand Rejudgement (sic) at the Sochi Olympics." By the minute, the petition collects around 15,000 signatures  every 10 minutes, with of the them coming from South Korea.
