Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date ‘In The Near Future,’ Announces Square Enix

Kingdom Hearts 3's release date will be "in the near future," Square Enix has promised fans, according to Playstation Universe.

Producer Shinji Hashimoto admitted that both Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV have been a long time coming, but pledged the studio is pulling out all the stops to ensure fans aren't disappointed, Playstation Universe also reports.

But some say Kingdom Hearts 3's release date is expected to be announced at this year's E3 conference in June.

A new Kingdom Hearts 3 campaign has been started in an attempt to get Square Enix to port the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One video game to the Wii U, Examiner.com reports.

According to a report from Gaming Bolt on Feb. 16, an online petition was set up on Change.org in order to capture the attention of David Yang, Examiner.com also reports.

Kingdom Hearts 3's release date may be delayed by Final Fantasy XV-a Square Enix producer said the latter game is a priority.

"We can't give too much information but certainly looking at 'Final Fantasy XV,' it's not as if it's in competition with 'Kingdom Hearts III' for resources or anything like that," Yoshinori Kitase said during a recent interview, according to the site.

Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase also disclosed to the site that the company is paying close attention to both games and that the development of one does not deter the other, Examiner also reports.

"We can't give too much information but certainly looking at Final Fantasy XV, it's not as if it's in competition with Kingdom Hearts 3 for resources or anything like that. It's quite far into development now and it is being given a very high priority within the company itself, but that doesn't mean Kingdom Hearts isn't," Kitase said during an interview, according to the site.
