Jessica Alba Is An Acting Junkie And We’re All Enablers; The Former Dark Angel Brightens the Screen in the Upcoming Sin City

Jessica Alba is an acting junkie and her fans are Jessica junkies. Don't worry, we'll still be getting our fix. Jessica Alba says she'll be an actress for a long time. Jessica Alba claims she is addicted to acting.

In a new interview with Nylon magazine, Jessica Alba, who's been acting since she was 13, calls acting her "drug." Jessica's next role is in the upcoming "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For." Jessica Alba's next fix comes out in August.

Jessica Alba joneses to play characters who push boundaries. She's come a long way since she burst onto the scene in the SyFy, then SciFi, Channel futuristic drama "Dark Angel." During the day, Jessica is a mom, all the time. So when she gets a role, "It's been liberating to be able to play someone who's a badass or promiscuous because that's the opposite of who I am...It's like a drug."

Alba seeks out more courageous roles that come with a braver outlook. "Before, I was so fearful of failure and judgment that I was scared to put myself out there ... You don't have to be a robot, you don't have to be appropriate all the time."

Alba's addiction to more challenging roles is paying off in the long run. "I've played a lot of leading-lady types; they were sweet, aspirational, not terribly complicated people ... I need to make sure I had staying power, so I went after tentpole movies that were going to be big and global."

Jessica Alba is the cover girl on the March issue of Nylon's March. Jessica is married to Cash Warren and mother of daughters Honor, who's five and a half, and Haven, who is two and a half. Alba is also the co-founder of The Honest Company.
