When YG Entertainment announced that there would be a delay in the release of the music video for Come Back Home, many fans were distraught. The album CRUSH was delayed in its initial release. 2NE1 was given the challenge of achieving a successful comeback, while facing up against their biggest competitors, Girls' Generation. However, the tactics utilized by YG may deliver a huge pay off. While music video teaser images often disappoint, Come Back Home encapsulates the wondrous delight of a science fiction film.

It is apropos that the video was released on the evening of the 86^th Academy Awards. Come Back Home employs many of the tropes that movie buffs are aware of. 2NE1 are transported into an extraterrestrial fantasy land, where the lines between dreams and reality are blurred. There are references to films such as Blade Runner, The Matrix, and Tron.

Come Back Home highlights the vocal strength's of 2NE1's CL, Dara, Minzy, and Bom. The track is a prime example of pure dubstep, with a rhythm that is reggae infused by dub, leading to a drop. With production by Teddy and PK, the song serves as a contradiction to what is normally released in K-Pop.  As the members of 2NE1 delve further into the simulated reality, the music transitions to a rap break featuring CL. The song is a fresh alternative to most of what is currently on the market for K-Pop and returns 2NE1 to their musical roots.
