2NE1: "It's Definitely a Big Turning Point For Us As 2NE1." + Billboard Record

2NE1, who recently released their second studio album CRUSH, stated that this was a "turning point" in their career.

On the 4th, Associated Press, a nonprofit news agency, interviewed the group. During their discourse CL said, "We prepared for a very long time for this album. It's definitely a big turning point for us as 2NE1."  In addition she stated, "We have all kinds of songs in there. We sing, rap, it goes from hip-hop to electro to R&B to everything. If you just check it out, you'll know."

Regarding their second world tour 'ALL OR NOTHING' CL, again, said, "I think it's been two years since our last tour. We didn't have our album out but we still were on tour. We're all about having fun. When we're on tour we love to meet our fans from all around the world because we only stay in Korea for most of the time...so that's what we want to do."

2NE1 has been gaining international attention. FUSE TV, for example, released an article stating the '9 reasons' to love their new album CRUSH. In addition, VICE.COM (the website for international magazine VICE) as well as magazines 'SPIN' and 'POPDUST' have been showing interest in 2NE1's comeback and music video.

Most important of all, however, is that 2NE1 managed to become the highest-ranking K-POP group ever in Billboard's main chart Billboard 200.

On the 5th, 2NE1's "CRUSH" made it to spot #61 on the "Billboard 200". In addition, their title track "COME BACK HOME" ranked 5th on the "World Digital Songs" chart.

While Psy's "Gangnam Style" was the highest-ranking K-POP single in Billboard's "Hot 100" chart, 2NE1 holds the record for the highest-ranking K-POP album in the "Billboard 200" chart. The group now occupies two of the main charts in the Billboard website.
