Looking Back At February - A Month Full Of ‘Frozen’ And ‘Genre Warring States Period’

February was a month that rode the "Let It Go" wave.

According to music site MelOn on the 5th, "February's monthly chart was topped by Idina Menzel's 'Let It Go.' SISTAR Hyolyn's 'Hello' stood at 2nd, and Soyou & JungGiGo's duet 'Some' took the 3rd place."

Others that occupied the top spots on their monthly music charts were Girl's Day's "Something"; Ailee's "Singing Got Better"; Gain's "Fxxx U"; MC the Max's "Wind that Blows"; Kristen Bell, Agatha Lee Monn, Katie Lopez's "Do You Want To Build A Snowman"; IU's "See You On Friday"; and Gary's "Shower Later."

The most noticeable thing for the 2014 February charts is Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" in the number 1 spot. In the past it wasn't often that pop music took that spot, and this event just highlighted just how influential the movie Frozen was for the music world in February.

Not only that, the February charts overflowed with songs of all different genres, from Hyolyn's ballad to Soyou & JungGiGo's hip hop rhythm R&B to IU's acoustic pop and MC the Max's rock. A wide variety of genres were well received and loved by the public in February. Will the trend continue in March? We'll have to wait and find out.
