SNL Ratings Drop As Lena Dunham Hosts; Girls Star May Quit Acting; Lena Dunham Twitter War Boils Up Post-SNL

SNL ratings fell when Lena Dunham hosted the long-running skit comedy show last Saturday night. After the broadcast, Lena Dunham partied with the cast and got into a Twitter war. The creator and star of Girls also recently said she might be quitting acting.

Mainstream media has embraced Lena Dunham, but she's not ready for the Not Ready for Prime Time Players of Saturday Night Live. Saturday Night Live featuring Dunham as host drew lousy ratings despite plenty of hype.

Not even full on nudity could save Saturday Night Live from its second lowest viewership of the season, as Lena Dunham hosted slow SNL ratings. In the opening monologue, Lena joked about her frequent nudity in Girls, saying"If you're nervous about giving a speech, just picture the audience naked. Or at least imagine that your audience hasn't seen you naked."

Lena Dunham went full-on nude as Eve, a "struggling 20-something in the Garden of Eden," against SNL's Taran Killam played Dunmam's co-star Adam Driver, as Adam.

The Biblical parody saw Eve trying to make out what God was talking about with the forbidden apple, asking "Are you saying that like, 'I suggest you don't' or like a 'definitely don't but with a side of maybe do'?"

Girls star and creator/showrunner Lena Dunham says she probably won't be into acting for the long haul. Dunham told the April issue of Glamour magazine she'd 'rather give parts to other women.'

Dunham said "I don't know if I'm going to want to act anymore. I'm always relieved on the days I don't have to. I'd rather give parts to other women than be the woman having the parts."

Stepping back from in front of the camera would give Dunham more time to look at other projects while still working on Girls.  She says "I want you to feel like you are getting lost with these characters. So I write long scenes. TV feels the least like life when it's like two seconds here, then 'meanwhile at this person's house.' I wanted to make a show that wasn't as bright as other shows."

Lena Dunham's Twitter account grew with new followers after the Girls' star appeared on SNL this weekend. Lena Dunham's Twitter got after Lena made a casual joking about molestation.  Talking about her  "Saturday Night Live" hosting duties this weekend where she appeared nude in a sketch about the Bible's Adam and Eve, one of Lena Dunham's Twitter followers out "You don't always have to get naked."

Dunham tweeted, "Please tell that to my uncle, mister. He's been making me!"

Lena must have figured she went too far and took the tweet off Twitter, explaining, "I just made and deleted a not so great molestation joke. Sorry guys. I am really sleepy."
