‘My Love From The Star’ In Korea, ‘Let It Go’ In America, Are OSTs The Way To Go?

How long will "My Love from the Star" popularity continue? The drama has been concluded in Korea, but it's swept the nation of China, and the OST is showing surprising rankings of various music charts.

The "My Love from the Star" OST is still going strong, despite other OSTs that were released thereafter, including Sung Shi Kyung's "Every Moment of You", Hyolyn's "Hello Goodbye", and Huh Gak's "Tears Fallin' LIke Today". However, one of the most awaited OSTs from the drama with very passionate viewers was released on the 13th.

That's Kim Soo Hyun's "Promise", which was relatable to a large audience. The original song was sung by Im Byung Soo as his debut song. The acoustic guitar and Kim Soo Hyun's cool and sad voice blended quite well. There's great interest as to whether Kim Soo Hyun's song to the viewers will shake up the music charts.

Pharrell Williams' song "Happy" is going strong 3 weeks in a row on Billboard's Hot 100 Charts for the month of March. The song is included in the singer's album Girl, and was the theme song for Despicable Me 2.

Number 9 on the Hot 100 Chart is Frozen OST "Let It Go", which was sung by Idina Menzel. Billboard 200 Album Chart has the Frozen ST at number 3, and had previously stood at number 1 for 5 consecutive weeks.

In Korea drama OSTs are going strong, and in America animated movie soundtracks are popular. What kind of popularity will they continue to show? It seems as if listeners love OSTs, whether they are from dramas or movies.
