Finding Dory Release Date: Pixar To Release ‘Finding Nemo’ Sequel On Its 30th Anniversary; Ending Altered In Response To Sea World Controversy

Finding Dory release date is scheduled to coincide with Pixar's 30th Anniversary. The highly anticipated sequel to the 3d smash hit 'Finding Nemo' on 2003 will be sailing and splashing the big screen featuring the voice of the famed TV host  Ellen DeGeneres, who's lending her voice once again the very animated blue tang.

Along with DeGeneres, Albert Brooks will also be reprising his role as the voice of Marlin, the famous father of Nemo who went in the most terrifying yet fun adventure of his life with Dory to look for his lost son. This time around though, Marlin would have to accompany the forgetful blue tang in her quest to look for her parents.

On that note, Dory's parents will be voiced by the award winning veteran actress Diane Keaton as Jenny [Dory's mom], while the equally talented actor Eugene Levy, whose known for his role in the American Pie franchise, will be playing the role of Charlie - Dory's dad.

The rest of the gang in the tank are also scheduled for the "Finding Dory" release date on June 17, 2016, which include Willem Dafoe as Gill and Vicki Lewis as Deb and her sister Flo.

Director Andrew Stanton will also return to helm the film, despite previously claiming the no-sequels policy last year on his interview with the Los Angeles Times.

"There was polite inquiry from Disney (about a Finding Nemo sequel). I was always 'No sequels, no sequels.' But I had to get on board from a VP standpoint. (Sequels) are part of the necessity of our staying afloat, but we don't want to have to go there for those reasons. We want to go there creatively, so we said (to Disney), 'Can you give us the timeline about when we release them? Because we'd like to release something we actually want to make, and we might not come up with it the year you want it."

In a most unlikely event for an animated film, Pixar alters the ending of Finding Dory to take part in instilling social consciousness for animal welfare. The studio has taken cues from the documentary of "Blackfish," which tackles the unfavorable life orca whales under the captivity of Sea World.

An employee of Pixar has spoken to The New York Times saying that the new ending will have to do with the fish and mammals from a "marine park" in the film to "have the option to leave" after being held captive.
