Japan's Weekly Shitsuwa posted an article titled, "KARA and Girls' Generation Are Cast in AV as Korean Entertainment Market Breaks Down." This article was also released in the online edition of the weekly on March 15, exposing its content to a wide number of readers.

One of its statements claims, "As the hate towards the Hallyu movement gains strength, girl groups such as KARA and Girls' Generation, who have previously enjoyed popularity, now resort to being cast in AVs (Adult Videos). The Japanese population is getting tired of Korean celebrities because they have no individuality or color."

The article further elaborates, "You are 10 times more likely to succeed in the Japanese entertainment industry than in the Korean one. It's only natural for celebrities to want to work in Japan. This is because we include and prosper in the sex industry. Whilst Korea, as a nation, might be against Japan, their celebrities show a deep interest and like for us."

In addition, it did not hesitate in mentioning topics such as sex and plastic surgery to further devalue the girl groups, "Even though they are pretty, they all look the same. They raise their noses and make their eyes bigger by fixing their eye creases. Also, since they perform surgery on their cheekbones they look even more identical."

In regards to Girls' Generation they claimed, "All 9 of them are successful because of their plastic surgeries. In the Japanese music industry, only KARA remains popular; the era of Girls' Generation has already died out."

The Weekly Shitsuwa is using unconfirmed rumors to state facts about the girl groups in order to easily degrade them. They are taking the word of an anonymous gossiper that, indeed, "Girls' Generation has been cast in a Japanese AV", that "a 'selfie' of Taeyeon and Jessica is circulating in the web", and "KARA, as well, has shot an AV".

Because Girls' Generation has been enjoying tremendous popularity from the Japanese masses, AV actresses have been parodying them. The popularity of the girl groups has been used to market these products.

What do you think about this anti-Hallyu article?
Is it Japanese nationalism or is it jealousy?
