CNBLUE ‘Can’t Stop’ Praised Internationally For Music And Jung Yonghwa’s Producing

Band CNBLUE will be completing their 5th mini album Can't Stop activities with a final performance on March 30th via SBS' "Inkigayo".

CNBLUE released their album on the 24th last month, and have been busy promoting their title song "Can't Stop", which showed the band's brand new music colors. The public showed great interest in this new type of music, and praised the band for this endeavor. As soon as "Can't Stop" was released, it shot to the number 1 spot on music charts as well as music programs, evidence of the song's immense popularity. It ranked number 1 on Gaon Social Charts for 3 consecutive weeks. Social Charts rank songs depending on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Me2Day and other SNS indexes.

CNBLUE's reputation is great even overseas. Billboard's K-Pop column K-TOWN offered high praise, noting the band's wide variety of rock and ballad. They also said, "Along with 'Can't Stop', standout 'Like a Child' is equally accessible and boasts an uplifting melody recalling Coldplay."

The praise continued in Europe as well. Russia's K-Plus Magazine commented, "CNBLUE once again found their own color of music. This album perfectly represents the state of mind of late winter and early spring." Poland media Asia on Wave Poland said CNBLUE is "a very special presence in the overflowing idols of the K-Pop market." They explained, "They'll last a long time with their self-written songs and rock music. 'Can't Stop' is the connection between innate talent and experience." Sweden website Hallyu.se wrote, "In the heart of rock culture Scandinavia, it's a given that CNBLUE would be popular. 'Can't Stop' is receiving a hot reaction in Sweden and Scandinavia."

"Can't Stop" is even more meaningful because, as leader Jung Yonghwa explained, the album shows the band's transformation and upgraded state, highlighting CNBLUE's musical direction and identity. The title song deviates from their usual modern rock genre and instead is of a British rock genre. All 6 of the songs were self-composed and self-written. Not only that, Jung Yonghwa himself produced all of the songs, adding to the authenticity of the group in the songs.

In a recent interview Jung Yonghwa stated, "'Can't Stop' is a song that proves CNBLUE can produce great music. It's possible because CNBLUE can create this kind of music." As such, the band contemplated their musical identities long before they started working on the album. This 5-year band has encountered a turning point, and it looks as if they'll just continue to grow.

CNBLUE will be holding their 6th solo concert in Korea, starting in Seoul on April 19th.
