Wheesung to Return with New R&B Mini Album in May

Wheesung will release a new album in May.

According to sources, Wheesung, who was discharged from the army last August, is in the preparation process for a new album release in May.

It has been 2 years and 5 months since Wheesung's last album They are Coming, released before Wheesung joined the army on October 2011.

The title track of the new album is composed by Kim Do Hoon, who wrote Wheesung's hit songs "Incurable Disease" and "With Me". The rest of the tracks are written by Wheesung himself.

Staff stated that the title song is of the R&B genre, Wheesung's forte: "At first, we looked into popular ballads as Wheesung's title song so it would be easier for the public to sing along to but decided to go with a R&B style song for Wheesung's fans. Wheesung is determined to master the song with practice".

The other tracks will be composed and written by Wheesung, who has proved his songwriting skills through collaboration with other artists.

Wheesung has been active in writing songs for other musicians; this year alone, he has written and produced Ailee's "Singing Got Better", Lim Chang Jung's "Last Handshake", Lyn's "Back Hug", MBLAQ's "Be a Man", and NC.A's "Hello Baby".

Expectations for his new album has risen since his previous hit songs have entered top 100 music charts last December again.

Wheesung's appearance in KBS "Immortal Songs" and JTBC "Hidden Singer" has boosted "Can't We" (2002) and "With Me" (2003), hit songs from 10 years ago, and "Even Thought of Marriage" (2010), and "Insomnia" (2009), onto charts again.

Staff stated that Wheesung was touched by the love from music fans: "Wheesung is practically living in his studio to fulfill expectations for his new album".
