K-Pop Mixtape: The 10 Best Songs Of 2014 (So Far)

Only a quarter of the way through the year and fans have already had a major overload of great songs from their favorite K-Pop artists.

With a shocking number of comebacks, debuts, and new concepts, Korean idols have been releasing amazing new music seemingly non-stop since the beginning of the year.

With many more surprises and releases yet to come, as well as dozens of world tours planned throughout the spring and summer, 2014 is on track to become K-Pop's most globally influential year to date.

Why: A crossover between members of two popular idol groups, this feel-good track has us hoping for many more fun duet projects this year.

#8 "CHA CHA"

Release Date: January 20
Why: The usually cute and cheery members of Rainbow formed a sub-unit and things certainly got steamy.

#7 "Zotto Mola"

Album: Mr. Gae
Release Date: January 15
Why: Gary takes a break from Leessang for his first-ever solo album showcasing his unique rap style. The video is super cool, too.

#6 "Come Back Home"
Artist: 2NE1
Album: CRUSH
Release Date: March 3
Why: The song fuses elements of 2NE1's reggae-infused past, penchant for dubstep, and leader CL's rap talents to create something very interesting while still staying true to the group's sound.

#5 "Beep Beep"

Release Date: February 17
Why: Dare you to try and not dance to it. Bonus points for weirdly mashing up with EXO's "Growl" choreogrphy.

#4 "Mr.Mr"
Artist: Girls' Generation
Album: Mr.Mr
Release Date: February 28
Why: With every new release, Girls' Generation proves why they are at the top of the industry. "Mr.Mr" also got the group a lot of attention from overseas media.

#3 "Can't Stop"
Artist: CNBLUE
Album: Can't Stop
Release Date: February 20
Why: Jung Yong Hwa's self-written track is beautifully melodic rock song that sets CNBLUE further away from the rest of the herd.

#2 "FxxK U"
Artist: Gain (feat. Bumkey)
Album: Truth or Dare
Release Date: January 27
Why: The Brown Eyed Girls member challenges every notion of what a K-Pop idol is with this raw, edgy song and music video.

#1 "Some"
Artist: Soyou and Junggigo (feat. Lil Boi of Geeks)
Album: Some
Release Date: February 7
Why: Currently six weeks at number one on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 and showing no signs of budging.
