Now that April Fools' Day 2014 is officially over, Pokemon fans have been treated with a variety of pranks, including an X and Y prequel.

Just prior to April 1, Pokemon fans began to gather pranks and rumors that could dupe the X and Y community, and the first thought that came to mind was a Ruby and Sapphire remake.

"So, if Hoenn isn't confirmed by April 1st, I'm gonna go around telling everyone it is. Who's with me?" asks Pokemaster4488 on Pokejungle.

"I'm going to text my friend, tell him Ruby and Sapphire remakes were announced, and send him a link to a 'you just got trolled' website," adds ShinyXatu.

In addition, a particularly infamous fake leaker that caused much controversy prior to the release of Pokemon X and Y is at it again, this time by proclaiming a prequel to the generation called Pokemon W.

No doubt in the spirit of April Fools' Day 2014, this leaker proclaims Pokemon W will take place before the Kalos War, where the region is more inhabited and expanded.

Allegedly, the mascot will be a Pokemon that assisted AZ during the War, and also goes on to describe his journey up to the first Gym Leader, who is a Grass-type trainer name Xaled.

The imagination and creativity is impressive, but if history has taught us anything, it's to ignore every piece of breaking news during April Fools'.

And while it isn't necessarily an April Fools' prank, the long-standing rumored Pokemon Plus and Minus has garnerd a lot of talented artists to create Fakemon.
