SS501 member Kim Kyu Jong shared the news of his army enlistment through his office home page.

On June 1, Kim Kyu Jong posted a hand written letter which tells of his July enlistment as well as a thank you message for his fans.

The letter starts off with "Hello, This is Kyu Jong. It’s a cliché to say but time surely passes by quickly right? I feel like I debuted just yesterday but it's already June of 2012. Are you guys all carrying out the plans you made?! It's still not late so think again about the plans you made and carry through with it.”

He continued "The reason why I am writing a letter to you after such a long time is because of my planned enlistment in the coming July. I wanted to tell the news to my fans myself. I'm so happy thanks to all the love and support of my beautiful fans. Because of you beautiful I am spending my 20s in happiness. Like I always say I want to give back as much as I receive, and I want to give my beautiful fans with good memories. Please promise that we will meet each other in a better state two years from now on. Please. Please. Please."

He finished the letter with "I am excited for the time I will have with you guys on June 3rd. Let's meet then. Let's keep our happy times as a good memory. As our time together is now will be left as beautiful memories, let's continue to make beautiful memories together. Thank you. I'm happy.”

Kim Kyu Jong will be receiving basic training in a training center for four weeks, and will be located in the region he will be serving in for two years.

Kim Kyu Jong's entertainment company revealed "(Kyu Jong) can delay his enlistment, but he decided that enlisting now would be the best decision for second part of his life. He will continue his promotions in the entertainment industry with a more relaxed heart after he is released from the army.”

Until now, Kim Kyu Jong has been a member of the idol team SS501, as well as releasing his solo album. He was also active as an actor through various dramas including 'Goong' and 'Saving Go Bong Shil.’
