[KpopStarz One Global K! Chart] Akdong Musician, Orange Caramel, 2NE1, Girls' Generation, And More; Who Ranks #1 This Week?

Another week is here and a few artists have made comebacks. Several veterans returned and are proving that they still have what it takes to produce hit singles. Among the comebacks were siblings Lee Chan Hyuk and Lee Soo Hyun who officially made their debut as Akdong Musician, despite having already raked up several number one hits last year during their time on K-Pop Star 2. Where do they rank this week and who is number one?

Number One This Week Goes to Akdong Musician For Scoring a "200%"

This week, Akdong Musician (AKMU) released their new album, Play. On the first day of release, the album received a lot of love from fans as various tracks ranked on the charts. One of two title tracks, "200%," soared to number one on all the major charts in Korea.

The music video tells the story of main vocalist Lee Soo Hyun getting hit by the love bug as she falls for a schoolmate. The one-sided love in the beginning gradually progresses to mutual fondness as she and the guy walk, dance, and whisper on the bus.

Though "200%" is undoubtedly cute, the siblings decided to put a twist in the video. In reality, the guy is already taken so the storyline takes place in Lee Soo Hyun's imagination. She feels heartbroken in the end.

The reason so many people love this single is because it brings something fresh to the K-Pop industry. Being cute siblings who sing on stage together makes AKMU stand out amongst other idols, and that unique quality, coupled with their undeniable talent, helps Akdong Musician attract fans from all over.
