Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie Spoilers: How Did The Rivalry Between Gamora & Nebula Connected Through Thanos?

Doctor Who star Karen Gillan has made a bold bald move for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie not only by taking on the role of the female lead villain Nebula, but also by shaving her long beautiful hair for the character.

The former Doctor Who star revealed some spoilers about the movie, and it involves some girl-on-girl combat action with none other than "Star Trek" movie star Zoe Saldana.

"Nebula is the female villain and Lee Pace plays the male villain," she told E! Online's Marc Malkin while promoting her new horror film, Oculus, at SXSW. "We torment people. We're really mean to people."

"There's a big girlie fight sequence, but it's not that girlie," the actress told MTV during the same event. "They made sure there weren't any nice pirouettes or anything like that."

The bald Nebula versus the green-skinned Gamora, played by Zoe Saldana, who's being described as "the green-skinned humanoid who is the last of a species that was exterminated by a race known as the Badoon. She also happens to be a skilled assassin."

This will not be the first time for the 35-year-old actress to paint her skin for a role, unlike Gillan, Saldana played the blue creature Neytiri in the hit sci-fi flick Avatar way back in 2009.

"We're very angry towards each other," Gillan added. "There's a huge fight sequence. I had to train for two months before I could do it. We shot the thing for four days!"

The former Doctor Who star Karen Gillan was so much into her role that she did all of her stunts for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and commends her co-star Zoe Saldana for being physically ready for th film saying:

"She's really experienced in the physical stuff, she was a ballerina," Gillan admitted. "She's really amazing at all of that stuff. She barely required any rehearsal. She was like, 'I can do this.' I required two months of rehearsals every day that I wasn't shooting because I looked like spaghetti when I started."

"I did all of my stunts and a stunt double did them, too," Gillan revealed. "I refused knee pads at one point and of course then I bruised my knee but that was it."

Talk about the sacrifices she had to make for the film, not only did she shave her red long locks the Scottish beauty had to endure sitting in the makeup chair for five hours every time she's in shoot, while the makeup team applied prosthetics to transform her skin into blue.

"It was amazing," Gillan said of the first time she looked in a mirror as Nebula. "It was creepy and weirdly doll-like, child-like almost."

When Doctor Who star Karen Gillan was asked about her character's relationship with Zoe Saldana's she explained that there is definitely an element of a sibling rivalry between the two. Here is where Guardians of the Galaxy movie spoilers start.

"There's definitely some rivalry going on between those girls," Gillan explained. "Absolutely! And they're both extremely fierce women and so when they bicker it's like...Imagine two sisters bickering and pulling each others hair, well they fight like assassins."

"I think that there's definitely a need to impress," Gillan admitted when questioned about the need to win the affection of a father figure (Thanos). "But they both have different motivations for that, and I would say that Gamora's more on the good side and Nebula is very much on the dark side."

Both Gamora and Nebula were raised to become galaxy-class killers under the guidance of Ronan the Accuser, who serves Thanos.

In the comics, Gamora is practically Thanos' adopted daughter however, it's not sure if that aspect of the comic book will be adapted in the film.

Guardians of the Galaxy trailer has been released and was classified with a PG rating and a two minute and thirty-two second running time. The next trailer to be featured is said to include the girl-on-girl action combat between Gamora and Nebula, played by Zoe Saldana and Karen Gillan respectively.

Here is the official synopsis of the film as posted from Marvel.com:
