The freshly debuted sibling duo Akdong Musician has gone beyond their audition star status and has grown into true K-Pop stars.

The brother-sister group appeared in the last season of "K-Pop Star 2" with a guitar and sang "Don't Cross Your Legs" with an unsophisticated look, but now they've taken control of the music industry. Not only have they taken all kills on music charts, but their title song "200%" music video already has over 1.5 million views, in just 5 days of its release. It's a remarkable feat for a rookie singer.

Akdong Musician released their debut album Play on the 7th and entered into full-scale activities. In just 2 hours of its release, the album took the number 1 spot across Korea's main real time music charts, including the biggest music site MelOn, as well as Mnet, Bugs, Soribada, and more. They were able to move ahead in rank above legendary seniors and top ranking girl groups.

Not only that, as of April 10th they are still number 1 on real time music charts on MelOn, Genie, Olleh Music, Naver Music, and Daum Music, and their album songs are currently ranking in the top spots.

Another amazing thing is the fact that Akdong Musician member Lee Chan Hyuk has written all the songs on the album. He already proved his songwriting skills on "K-Pop Star 2 " with songs such as "Don't Cross Your Legs", "You Are Attractive", "Is It Ramen", and "Crescendo". He's done it once again by filling their debut album with songs that give off a bright and healthy vibe.

YG Entertainment's main producer Yang Hyun Suk revealed strong confidence in Akdong Musician even before their debut. As he announced their debut date, he said, "There's never been a time that was as difficult as it was when we were trying to decide on the title song for Akdong Musician's first album. Akdong Musician's unique charm and freshness are blended well into the 11 songs. Since their theme is much different from any other that has appeared in the music industry, I can only say that their quirky lyrics are 'amazing.' There's no better way I can express myself."

Before the album release, Yang Hyun Suk decided to hold a public hearing, and expressed his confidence. On April 5th they held a hearing session in Seoul, and despite the poor weather, about 5,000 spectators attended the event. They didn't limit fans from recording on their phones or taking videos, and even handed out lyric books, expressing great faith in Akdong Musician's music.

And upon coming into first contact with Akdong Musician's songs, the fans gave a hot response. Right after the hearing session, they made the main page of various portal sites, and quickly became the real-time hot issue. Their hearing session videos also spread like wildfire. It just serves as proof that fans are massively interested in Akdong Musician. So, with Yang Hyun Suk's confidence and the fans' interests, Akdong Musician moved from being just an audition star to becoming a K-Pop star.

Their popularity isn't just domestic. Overseas iTunes album charts in Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore ranked Akdong Musician's album as number 1.
