K-Chart for the Week; April 10, 2014

News media Popdust featured an article on where some of your favorite K-Pop idols rank this week. Placing number one is Park Hyo Shin for his single, "Wild Flower." Number two is the bubbly and innocent girls of A Pink for their single, "Mr. Chu." Bro's single, "Such A Man" ranks fifth.

Orange Caramel's "Catallena" single ranks sixth by continuing to make fans hungry. The ladies of Crayon Pop have replaced their helmets with scarfs as their single, "Uh-ee ranks tenth. With their catchy choreography by having full of energy, fans are dancing along with the girls.

4Minute's single, "Whatcha Doin' Today" ranks twelve after debuting number one just three weeks ago. The beautiful NS Yoon-G seductively makes men's hearts beat for her as the single "Yasisi," ranks number seventeen. Lastly, the guys of Super Junior-M rank twenty-eighth for their single, "Swing."

Gangnam is famous due to K-Pop; Though the street vendors are not

News media The Guardian, featured an article regarding how Gangnam is a known area in South Korea thanks to K-Pop. The local mayor, Shin Yeon Hee, is planning to turn the Seoul neighborhood into a "global luxury district" with a K-Pop theme.

Thanks to Psy and his single, "Gangnam Style," this area is one that tourists go to first when visiting South Korea. Though, the article also explained how vendors are being forced to move out of Gangnam because of the city council stating that they do not have permits to be on the streets.

One person that they featured in the article was Lee Seon Ja. Lee has been a street vendor in Gangnam for the past ten years and does not want to move elsewhere. Lee would rather stay in Gangnam and be a part of the K-Pop facelift.   He said, "We've tried working with the government. We said we'd renovate our carts to make them look nicer, but they won't listen."  

2NE1 is on top now; Though other idols are returning

Billboard featured an article regarding how 2NE1 is on top right now as their "Crush" album has set a new record in terms of album sells. Including this, the album is also ranked high on the music charts. However, the girls cannot be complacent because there are other idols returning soon. The article explained which stars 2NE1 needs to watch out for.

The king of Korean entertainment Psy is making his comeback after his success with "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman." People are wondering what new style he will bring for his return. So far, fans of Psy know that he has big collaborations with world stars such as Justin Bieber, Steven Tyler, and Snoop Dogg for his spring return. No confirmed date has been announced yet.

Twelve member group EXO is once again going to make women scream after making themselves known last year for their hit single, "Growl."  On April 15th the guys released a teaser for their new single, "Overdose." EXO told their fans that the song will be an R&B, hip-hop, and dance type.  

Big Bang is scheduled to return together after each of the guys focused on solo activities in the past year. They announced they will return this summer and will release a new full-length album that is going to be packed with great hits. As of right now, not much is known on what kinds of songs will be on the album, but it is said that G-Dragon is currently working on it.

The nine fabulous ladies of Girls' Generation are currently considering a world tour for their fans here in the United States.  As we wait for the decision to be made, their single "Mr.Mr" has become a popular hit follow-up to their previous single "I Got A Boy." The music video has reached over seventeen million views on YouTube. The popularity of the girls continues to shine on.

The ladies of Crayon Pop continue with wacky wardrobes and have switched out their helmets for scarfs for their "Uh-ee" return. "Bar Bar Bar" made the girls popular here in the US thanks to their pistol engine bounce. Not only are the girls popular among K-Pop fans; but Lady Gaga as well. The girls will travel with Lady Gaga this summer to support her tour. Just recently, Crayon Pop released their new music video "Uh-ee" which already has 2.5 million views. People are loving the fast upbeat tempo of their new single.

Finally, T-ara N4 has confirmed that they are going to work with artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown, and other western acts for a comeback later this year. Though, no new news has been released on when that will be.
