Wheesung & Gummy May Comebacks - Will They Sweep Charts With R&B?

Singers Wheesung and Gummy will be making comebacks alongside each other this coming May, and there are high expectations as to whether they will highlight the essence of R&B.

Both singers have already confirmed their comebacks to be sometime in May, and are currently in the last stages of their preparations. It will be Wheesung's comeback in 3 years, and Gummy's comeback in 4 years. As Korea's leading R&B singers, Wheesung and Gummy are garnering much interest with their relay comebacks.

Although Wheesung has yet to confirm the actual comeback date, but he's planning to release his new mini album in May. He's prepared 7 new songs with composer Kim Do Hoon. It's been hinted that his new title song will be a strong R&B work that's reminiscent of "With Me." The song is rumored to have a sense of beat, yet also showcase the tremendous vocal advantages that Wheesung possesses.

Gummy is planning a comeback in early May. Her agency C-JeS Entertainment announced this news on the 15th, saying, "The new album will be an album that's perfect for the spring weather." Gummy is already well loved for her uniquely colored voice. She said, "Since May is the happiest and brightest month, I want to greet you all with lyrics and sound that can delight your ears."

These two talented singers that led the R&B craze in the 2000s recently appeared on broadcasting programs. Wheesung appeared on JTBC's "Hidden Singer" and recently sang his old song "I Even Thought of Marriage." After the episode aired, his song entered the music charts once again. Gummy appeared on KBS' "Immortal Song" in the Joo Hyun Mi special, and set an all-time high score of 445.

These two singers are known for being close friends, and even held a joint tour concert last holiday season.
