K-Pop Crossover: Bjork And The Beatles Lead Our List Of Top 5 Craziest Album Cover Shoots Ever

On Tuesday it was revealed that after a two-month delay, WINNER, a new K-pop boy band picked from contestants on the South Korean reality show "Who Is Next: WIN," are finally shooting the cover for their debut album.

The WINNER album is arguably the most anticipated release in the South Korean music scene right now, yet it's likely the photographer will attempt anything as wild as the artists on this list.

Without further ado, here's our list of the wildest album photo shoots ever conducted.

Bat For Lashes, "The Haunted Man"

This 2012 album, despite not having any explicit nudity, still manages to shock and astound.

"The cover isn't about sexuality, but the rich tapestry of things you can represent with a naked body; honesty and simplicity," said Natasha Khan to NME.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono, "Two Virgins"

Released in 1968, this avant garde album is now more known for its controversial album cover than its sales. "Two Virgins" failed to chat in the UK, and reached 124 in the US.

The Beatles, "Abbey Road"

While it may not be the craziest of album covers, it certainly is one of the most iconic and recognizable.

Taken on Friday, August 8, 1969, photographer Iain Macmillan, Paul McCartney famously showed Macmillain a detailed illustration for the album cover photo.

In 2010, the crossing shown on the cover was given Grade II listed status.

Andrew W.K., "I Get Wet"

This album cover was actually created through self-flagellation with a cinder block and additional pig's blood, according to PopPhoto. Shot by art photographer Roe Ethridge, the cover art caused controversy for endorsing cocaine usage.

No doubt thanks to this controversial album cover, the album shot up to the top of Billboard's "Heatseekers" chart."

Bjork, "Homogenic"

Through the help of photographer Nick Knight and designer Paul White, the ever colorful Bjork was turned into a startling alien-like being through computer manipulation for her 1997 album release.

Reportedly, Bjork approached Alexander McQueen to design the album cover, with subject being "a warrior who had to fight not with weapons, but with love." The hair on her head weighed roughly 10 kilos.
