These 3 Hallyu Stars Are Returning Their Fans’ Love

Recently "The Heirs" and "My Love from the Star" were wildly popular in China and have started the 'new Hallyu wave.' Accordingly, there have been many events for local fans to meet Hallyu stars from those dramas. Lee Min Ho, Kim Soo Hyun, and Park Hae Jin are rising as the 3 Hallyu stars in China. They're reaching out in various ways, including donations.

Lee Min Ho recently started his community service project 'PROMIZ.' The project title is a combination of the words 'promise' and 'Minoz' (Lee Min Ho's official fan club). It's a word that's supposed to mean a promise of 'giving love back to the fans.'

On that premise, Lee Min Ho is planning to donate all proceeds and MD products obtained through fan meetings. He will make public all proceeds transparently, and is planning to give back the love and attention he receives.

Kim Soo Hyun recently donated 1.2 million yen to the China Charity Foundation. His donation will go towards helping to create a treatment center for children and youth that are facing challenges.

Park Hae Jin is not an exception. He was the first Korean celebrity to receive the main award at the 4th Actor Civil Ceremony in Beijing last month. He opened a 'Park Hae Jin' theater at the Lotte Cinema in Tianjin, China, and is expecting to donate all proceeds to local children. Not only that, all proceeds from the JUly opening will go towards helping sick children who need surgery but are too poor to receive treatment.

Up to now, a portion of popular Hallyu stars in China were negatively highlighted as only looking for money for themselves. Hallyu experts say that's why there has been some unpleasant views on Hallyu stars.

Rain, Song Hye Kyo, and Jang Keun Suk's Chinese marketing representative HS Media's Jason Chang said, "It's been save that Korean Hallyu stars just earn money and go back to Korea. Naturally Chinese fans have said, 'Are we just here to spend money!' In order to not add to resentment, Hallyu stars must give back to the locals and have more physical contact, showing that they won't give back just once." He also advised, "As the Hallyu wave is being revived in China, Hallyu stars must seek to understand local culture and the public's preferences."
