Lotte Duty-Free Shops decided to limit their promotion event scheduled for April 18.

Lotte Duty-Free Shops expressed their sympathy for those involved in the sinking of the Sewol ferry: "We want to share in the sadness and pray for the safe return of survivors".

Lotte also announced that they have pushed back the concert scheduled for April 19 and 20; however, they were unable to reschedule today's event because of its audience, which is mainly foreigners: "We will limit the event to a more serious one, eliminating all performances and festivities from our event".

Previously, Lotte Duty-Free Shops has announced that 10,000 foreigners have already entered Korea to attend the event; a cancellation was not feasible at this point.

Park Shin Hye and Lee Min Ho, celebrity guests for the event, also stated: "In light of the ferry incident, we don't feel that it is right for us to celebrate festivities; however, we understand Lotte Duty-Free shop's stance".
