‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 5’ Update: Jerry Bruckheimer Confirms ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ Is Happening, Says ‘We’re Working On It’

The "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" update offers hope for fans of the series as Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that "Dead Men Tell No Tales" will push through after a bit of a news downer by Disney CEO last month.

"We're working on it, it's hopefully moving forward," creator Jerry Bruckheimer told Bloomberg.

"Johnny is excited about it, obviously Disney is. We're excited about it. So hopefully we'll get that going this fall or end of the year if everything lines up properly," he said.

Last March 19, reporter Marc Graser tweeted the explosive news by Disney CEO Robert Iger during a shareholders' conference on Portland, Oregon on March 19.

"Disney's Bob Iger says that the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film has not yet been given the greenlight," he tweeted.

The release date of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" has already been postpone from July 10, 2015 to the summer of 2016 partly because Disney reportedly didn't like the first draft of the script.

Fans of the series were optimistic by bits of nuggets being released to the media from the plot, the official title of the fifth instalment of the series as "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" to naming Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg as directors and the release date.

Meanwhile, Jerry Bruckheimer dismissed rumors that Keith Richards will be eased out of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5," saying that they wanted him to jump on board. "We'd love to have him back, so we'll see," he said.

Johnny Depp has publicly acknowledged that his return to "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" would largely depend on the script The Wrap said the franchise made too much money for the actor to pass up.

According to various reports, the franchise already generated sales for Disney of over $3 billion.

The website also said in a 2011 report that Johnny Depp already earned between $280 million and $350 million from the four Pirates movies.
