3-Member KARA’s Fate Lies In The Hands Of Fan Meetings Next Month

Kang Jiyoung and Nicole have both left KARA, and there's keen interest as to how KARA will be returning. Their next move is to hold fan meetings, which will shed light on their fate.

KARA will hold a fan meeting at the Blue Square Samsung Card Hall in Seoul on May 24th. They will hold another fan meeting at the Budokan in Tokyo on June 1st. The group has not yet determined to recruit additional members, and will be beginning their first official fan meeting with just 3 members.

KARA's Nicole and Kang Jiyoung left the team when their contract with DSP Media expired, leaving Park Gyuri, Han Seungyeon, and Hara. DSP Media is still thinking about whether they will continue as a trio with the two missing members, or whether they will recruit new members to create a 5 member group once again. To be sure, even with DSP Media there are probably split opinions, with one side saying "Let's go with 3 members," and the other side saying "Let's recruit two new members to create a 5 member group."

As a result, it's expected that the upcoming fan meetings in Japan and Korea will have a significant impact in DSP making their final decision regarding the number of members, like a 'testing stage.' KARA must definitely make a comeback this year. That's because one of the hottest Japanese agencies, Universal Music, is requesting their comeback, and also because KARA must prove that they're still playing in the big leagues. Leaving too much of a break after members leave the group could possibly be detrimental for their future activities.

If KARA completes their fan meeting successfully with just 3 members, then their comeback could possibly be sped up, especially since they won't have to take the time to recruit new members.
