‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 5’ Update: Johnny Depp Confirms Having A Hand On ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ Script; Movie To End On High Note?

"Pirates of the Caribbean 5" star Johnny Depp confirmed that he's working with the screenwriter for the script of "Dead Men Tell no Tales" in order come up with a story that will "end on a high note."

In an interview with Ruben V. Nepales of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Johnny Depp said those behind the film might be doing other things in the meantime but they haven't forgotten about going back to the drawing board for the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5."

"Everyone involved wants the script to be right and perfect ... We are still going to do the film together," he said, adding that he is working with screenwriter Jeff Nathanson on the story.

Johnny Depp revealed that Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning, who were earlier reported to help the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" are still attached to the project.

"I enjoy them immensely. They are super talented. They have a great sense of humor. I think they have a really fun approach to what we are going to do with the next 'Pirates.'

Johnny Depp also added that he has "high hopes" for "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" even if it's probably going to be the last in the series.

"I feel that we owe it to the audience who went and saw the films so many times. We'll do it right and end it on a high note," he said.

Earlier, creator Jerry Bruckheimer told Bloomberg that "Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will push through even with the news by Disney CEO Robert Iger that the film wasn't greenlighted yet by the studio.

"We're working on it, it's hopefully moving forward," Jerry Bruckheimer said.

"Johnny is excited about it, obviously Disney is. We're excited about it. So hopefully we'll get that going this fall or end of the year if everything lines up properly," he added.

"Disney's Bob Iger says that the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film has not yet been given the greenlight," reporter Marc Graser tweeted last March 19.

The release date of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" has already been postpone from July 10, 2015 to the summer of 2016 partly because Disney reportedly didn't like the first draft of the script.
