Musicians Cancel-Delay Promotions and Remain in Grief for Sewol

The new year's comeback rush of musicians came to an all-stop with the sinking of the Sewol. The incident of the Sewol sinking put the nation in devastation as the media reported hundreds missing or dead.

The K-pop scene is no different; musicians who captured fans' eyes and ears with their fascinating performances under flashy spotlights one by one put a pause on their album promotions and participated in the nation's grief. Although they have not been able to put their well-prepared and long-rehearsed

performances on stage, they've all come to agree that now is not the time to be on stage.

Musicians have delayed album release and canceled concerts. FIESTA, originally scheduled to return on the 25th, pushed back their comeback date, as did G.NA. Lena Park and EXO, who held their comeback showcase on April 15, also put an halt on their album promotion.

Concerts have also been delayed or canceled. Lee Seung Chul, Lee Mun Se, Lee Jung, and 2BiC have expressed their grief over the incident, canceling their concerts.

How are these musicians reacting in these unexpected circumstances? Duo 2BiC, who canceled their "BiC Show Unplugged" originally planned to be held on the 26-27th, have been working hard to prepare for their next concert. Staff commented: "2BiC canceled their concert to show their sympathy for the Sewol incident. However, they have been practicing hard to make their next concert a more perfect one". Many musicians have been following suit.

FIESTAR, who is anticipating their comeback, stated: "It is right for us to push back our comeback date. How can we possibly laugh and perform on stage when the nation is in such crisis? We hope that the incident willl be resolved soon. The time that we have been given before our new comeback date will be used to further perfect our upcoming stages".
