Music Industry Expecting Delays Of At Least 2 Weeks

Singers that had been planning for comebacks in April and May are adjusting their schedules for 2 weeks' delay.

Because of the Sewol ferry sinking tragedy, the nation is becoming increasingly more heartbroken, and need sufficient time to mourn the terrible occurrence. It looks as though the music industry will need plenty of mourning time before they can immerse themselves in putting on a lively show for their comebacks.

It hasn't yet been determined when the music broadcasts will resume activities, but it looks as though this week will be difficult to see them resuming regular broadcasting. When the Cheonan incident happened in 2010, there was a month's rest from all activities, and that's what's being projected as of now.

Even though broadcasts are resumed, it'll be burdensome for the music industry to go right into preparing comeback performances. One rep stated, "Comeback activities are heavily dependent on music broadcasting programs. It's more probably that comebacks will happen the week after broadcasts are resumed, rather than that very same week."

Yet another rep said, "Time has passed, but we cannot go on with our activities as we announced during our promotions. We need to reinforce or completely reconsider all plans before we go forward with them. Just because a comeback is delayed doesn't mean that we'll be making a comeback the first week that music broadcasts are resumed."

With the way things are progressing right now, it looks as if comeback teams that were projected for activities in late April and early May will have their schedules postponed greatly. The singers that were in the middle of their activities have put all promotions to a halt, and it can be said that they've ended their activities. The norm is to go with a full month of activities with just one song, but since 2-3 weeks have already passed, we can say that they've already ended.

One idol group rep stated, "It'll be difficult to have any kind of event, show, promotion, or schedule over the next two weeks."
