‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 5’ Filming Starts This Fall? Disney Chairman Gives Update On ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ After Johnny Depp’s Confirmation

"Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" might possibly begin production this fall according to Disney Chairman Alan Horn after Johnny Depp's confirmation that the film has not been shelved.

Guesting before the Bloomberg Business of Entertainment Breakfast Tuesday, Alan Horn did not dismiss the earlier report when creator Jerry Bruckheimer said that he's targeting fall filming for ""Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" if everything lines up properly.

"It's possible. We haven't seen a screenplay yet that I've been able to sign off on," he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "There's a lot of variables that affect the final outcome once it leaves the studio lot, so we are very careful."

Last week, "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" star Johnny Depp confirmed that he's working with the screenwriter for the script of "Dead Men Tell No Tales" in order come up with a story that will "end on a high note."

Johnny Depp said in an interview with Ruben V. Nepales of the Philippine Daily Inquirer that those behind the film might be doing other things in the meantime but they haven't forgotten about going back to the drawing board for the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5."

"Everyone involved wants the script to be right and perfect ... We are still going to do the film together," Johnny Depp said, adding that he is working with screenwriter Jeff Nathanson on the story.

Johnny Depp revealed that Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning, who were earlier reported to help the "Dead Men Tell No Tales" are still attached to the project.

"I enjoy them immensely. They are super talented. They have a great sense of humor. I think they have a really fun approach to what we are going to do with the next 'Pirates.'

Johnny Depp also added that he has "high hopes" for "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" even if it's probably going to be the last in the series.

"I feel that we owe it to the audience who went and saw the films so many times. We'll do it right and end it on a high note," he said.
