Lee Soo Man Donates $1,000,000 To Sewol Victims

On April 28, Lee Soo Man and SM Entertainment delivered $1,000,000 to Korea's National Red Cross to be used for the victims and families of the Sewol sinking.

Korea's National Red Cross stated: "SM donated $1 million to be used to aid those involved in the sinking of the Sewol. The donated fund will entirely be used for the victims, missing, and the families of those involved".

The $1,000,000 was made from $500,000 put in by Lee Soo Man and the other half from SM Entertainment's charity fund.

SM's director Lee Soo Man stated: "As a parent to the company's celebrities, who are like sons and daughters to me, I am deeply grieved to think about the children who have not been able to carry out their dreams. I want to share in the mourning and be of help continuously".

SM Entertainment had previously pushed back EXO's album release and promotions after the Sewol sinking on April 16.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment is extensively involved in social charity work, collaborating with the Korea's National Red Cross and volunteering with the organization. They have also joined with Samsung to support multi-cultural families and have made donations after the Japanese earthquake.
