CJ E&M, Kodiz, Tianjin Century Media Co. Ltd, C2M, Huace Media and Media Asia Group have collaborated to make a movie. 

Still cuts for the upcoming movie, "The Peaceful Island," (working title) were released online today.

The co-produced movie will be directed by Chang Yoon Hyun and will feature Chinese and Taiwanese actors.

"The Peaceful Island" will be a thriller about a group of stranded people who are trying to survive on a desert island. 

The cast and crew have been filming in many different places around China and plan to release the movie later this year.

South Korea's representative music company, CJ E&M, has been branching out internationally to expand various projects as well. 

CJ E&M has launched CJ Victor Entertainment with a major Japanese music label Victor Entertinament to further showcase and represent the Asian music market, according to the Korea Herald. 

CJ E&M's head of music Ahn Suk-joon stated in a press release on Monday, "In order for Hallyu to expand and sustain itself overseas, it's important to move away from simply relying on individual artists' activities toward building a stable system with foreign companies."

CJ Victor Entertainment reportedly plans to launch Korean artists in Japan and then release new albums featuring Japanese pop singers and bands. 

The joint company also plans on sending artists to international stages as well as focus on developing new stars that will represent Asia. 

This news of collaboration may help expand South Korean culture as well, since CJ E&M has a lot of connections within the Korean entertainment industry. 

CJ E&M is currently in charge of tvN's "Witch's Romance," "Potato Star 2013QR3," "I Need More Romance," "Taxi" as well as many more hit shows. 

CJ E&M has been putting their hit shows on hold as South Korea grieves over the lost lives in the Sewol ferry tragedy.
