NBA Playoffs 2014: Brooklyn Nets Blaming The Fans? Kevin Garnett And Paul Pierce Complain About Lethargic Supporters At Homecourt! Boston Celtics Return Imminent?

The NBA Playoffs are in full swing and the players are taking their intensity to the next level. The entire organizations of all 16 teams are in full support, even their fans.

Speaking of the fans, though, the Brooklyn Nets have had an aggressive fan base that was built to intimidate their team's opposition. That was not the case in the playoffs, though.

Earlier in the playoffs, the two veteran leaders of the team, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, who came from one of the strongest fan bases in the league in Boston, felt that the support was lacking.

Garnett told Newsday: "Could do better. I was expecting Brooklyn to be real hostile, New York style, knowing what it's like to come here as the opposition, so our crowd could do better. But they were there when [we needed them] and we fed off of them."

Deron Williams agreed:  "Yeah, it was a little slow to start. Seven o'clock game on a Friday night in New York, that's tough. So hopefully it will be better come Sunday. But they definitely got into it, and when we started making our little run, the crowd took over."

Pierce and Garnett would continue their crowd bashing, but they were actually not alone. They lost Game 4 at home and eventually had to play a spirited rally to take Game 5 in Toronto but fell short.

Playoff veterans like Pierce, Garnett and even Deron Williams know that they're supposed to win even without crowd support and even on the road. But they were not the only one's complaining. From the NY Daily News:

"#Nets fans take note- this is what a playoff crowd sounds like..set your DVD and take notes #RAPTORSvNETS - LR," tweeted Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center senior reporter Lenn Robbins, who took over the club's official Twitter account during the second and third quarters of Game 5 of the series in Toronto Wednesday night.

Just before tipoff, Robbins tweeted from his personal Twitter account: "Welcome to Air Canada Centre for pivotal Game 5..got to give it to fans here..they've been louder, prouder, better #RAPTORSvNETS."

Paul Pierce will become a free agent this summer. It has already been rumored that he misses the atmosphere of Boston. Will he eventually end his career the same way it started-wearing the Irish Green?
