It's been a long time coming, and fans have been waiting anxiously, but EXO's second mini album "Overdose" was finally, officially, released on May 7^th.

"Overdose" was originally set to be released on April 21, but on April 16 the Sewol ferry sank and the entire country was thrown into mourning due to the loss of over 200 lives. As a result, EXO delayed its comeback.

The entertainment industry in South Korea shut down in order to focus on the search for the missing passengers, and has only recently started to return to normal scheduling. The music industry lagged behind the television and movie industry, and few artists have made the step to return to their normal promotion cycle.

EXO is one of the first idol groups to announce their re-schedule comeback, although INFINITE, Block B, and others also planned comebacks for April prior to the Sewol tragedy.

"Overdose" was officially released on May 7, but fans have had ample opportunity to see the MV prior to the official release. The music video was shown at EXO's showcase on April 15 and leaked over the Internet, even though the official video wasn't posted prior to the Sewol incident. However, several days ago the music video for "Overdose"  was leaked online.

Now, of course, fans can see the official "Overdose" music videos.

EXO has performed "Overdose" at their showcase, and EXO-M performed the Chinese version of the song at the 18th China Music Awards on April 23, so many fans have already heard the title track and seen the dance performance. Even so, the full mini-album was delayed.

The release of "Overdose" hints to the normalization of the music industry after the wake of the Sewol ferry disaster, and is sure to gain a lot of attention because of this.

The title song "Overdose" is a dance song with R&B and pop elements.

The Korean version of the music video had over 1 million views within 24 hours of releasing the music video, and the Chinese version had over 600,000.
